Jay Z officially opened up the new home of the Brooklyn Nets with his live performance at the Barclays Center. The arena is just minutes away from where Jay grew up as a kid: the Marcy Projects. And about 30mins away from Marcy public housing lived the Notorious B.I.G. and so in honoring Brooklyn, Jay Z payed tribute to the Hip Hop icon. The video of which can be seen above.

    B.I.G did not live in Marcy he lived in the Bedstuy area of Brooklyn. Which is where Marcy projects are as well

    The post doesn't say BIG lived in Marcys. The place where BIG grew up is in fact 30mins away from Marcys. I know my ciity man.
