Whatever Lupe Fiasco does, it always seems to strike controversy. Recently, Lupe released his new record entitled "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)" where he sampled Pete Rock's classic Hip Hop record ""T.R.O.Y. (They Reminisce Over You)." Pete Rock wasn't happy with the decision. He took it to twitter to express his anger stating he was unaware of the sample and that the record should of been left alone. Pete Rock: "This business can be so lame, sometimes I make beats blindfolded with one hand tied behind my back and still these cats can't be original to," he wrote. "So untalented and unoriginal. Makes me feel like I'm truly the best that ever did it. Yo hev and t-Roy I love and miss da shit outta y'all."

Im a huge pete rock fan. I agree people aint bein original, but really, how is Lupe or his camp supposed to know these feelings. Someone cleared the sample from PR's camp too, so why didn't he speak up then and this wouldnt have been touched. I agree, its not just a sample, its basically the same beat, but doesnt have that original hip hop feel, it has that hip POP feel. Should have left it alone, and PR's people should have not let them use it...simple.
